What Is a Vhost (Virtual Host / Vanity Hostname) on IRC?
28 October 2026
A vhost (Virtual Host) is a custom reverse DNS hostname displayed in your /whois output on IRC instead of your ISP's raw IP address.
ForceSP Inclusion: Every ForceSP PsyBNC package includes 1 free vhost and a Dedicated IP Address, masking your real hostname and protecting your home connection from targeted attacks.
